The Art of Salsa Dancing

I've been learning how to salsa dance for the past two and a half months. Let me say I have come a long way and have gotten sooooo much better from the first time I salsa danced. It is still very challenging, I'm learning how much of an art salsa dancing is. One can dance salsa in a mechanical and technical way trying to anticipate a guy's every moves and know the exact moves he will do so that you can follow efficiently. But the truth is, that's not the best way to salsa dance, it will only get you so far. I've come to the point, where I know sooo many moves, that it almost makes it harder for me because I try to anticipate moves a guy is going to do so when I think he is leading me one way I try to guess what he is going to move. Salsa dancing for the girl is knowing how to follow the guy based on the tension and cues he gives you with his hands. It's about forgetting everything you know about salsa dancing and just being free and following your instinct. I like knowing what's going to happen and being in control, but I can't, I must not know what's going to happen and just follow. I'm getting better, but that's my challenge for now!
